3rd ANNUAL ΦΚΨ
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP
Saturday, February 17, 2024
For alumni and active members to connect and network
Phi Kappa Psi held its 3rd Annual Professional Development Workshop on February 17 in the DePaul University Student Center.
This year’s Workshop focused on two tracks of learning. First and second-year Brothers attended sessions on time management, identifying your strengths, and building your first resume. Upperclassmen participated in discussions on job and internship search strategies, as well as sessions devoted to networking and interview practice. This year again offered two feature presentations. Portfolios & Resumes focusing on building your first professional portfolio and establishing and maintaining your professional online presence. Our lunch presentation, At-Home Workouts & Eating Healthy on a Budget, focused on how to successfully build fitness and nutrition into an already busy class and work schedule.

A new addition to this year’s program was the opportunity for attendees to have a headshot taken by a professional photographer. The Workshop again concluded with the extremely popular Alumni Panel Discussion.
The Professional Development Workshop was made possible by a grant from the Phi Kappa Psi Foundation and donations from generous alumni. The entire program was conceived, developed, and presented by Phi Psi alumni.
Here are what attendees had to say about the 2024 program:
“Portfolio building, now I know what I need to do and how to get started.”
“Very helpful and insightful. Great takeaways into the future.”
“It’s important how we manage our time because it impacts how your day goes.”
“Hold onto SMART goals and always make new ones.”
“Really liked the emphasis on workouts not in the gym. I really need to meal prep and eat healthier (and cheaper). Now I know where to start!”
“Great presentations! Extremely informative and brought something new to the table.”
“Have a good work/life balance!”
